Catherine Tait

Catherine’s career spans corporate, nonprofit and public sectors in media & entertainment in both the U.S. and Canada. In her former role as CBC/Radio-Canada’s President & CEO, she drove significant innovation and digital transformation at Canada’s public broadcaster from 2018-2025. Catherine founded the Public Spaces Incubator with New_ Public and public broadcaster partners, CBC/Radio-Canada, ZDF, RTBF and SRG SSR. She was also the founding Chair of the Global Task Force for Public Service Media, a group dedicated to advancing the causes of public media, independent journalism and freedom of the press. Today, Catherine is engaged in supporting the open social web and digital sovereignty in her roles as Expert-in-Residence with New_ Public and as an Advisor to Gander.
