Erin Kissane

Erin Kissane is a writer and researcher focused on the way the social internet shapes what we know and how we live. She publishes at wreckage/salvage and co-runs Unbreaking, a networked volunteer collective making sense of the hollowing-out and weaponization of the US government. In 2023, she published a 40k-word series on Meta's role in the genocide of the Rohingya people; in 2024 she conducted an ethnography of fediverse governance with the support of the Digital Infrastructure Insights Fund. Previously, she co-founded The Covid Tracking Project at The Atlantic and was part of the founding team at OpenNews.
