Ethan Zuckerman is the founder of the Institute for Digital Public Infrastructure at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and associate professor of Public Policy, Information and Communication. For the past two decades, he has worked with, advised and learned from activists around the world who are using technology and media to take on difficult problems. From 2011 to 2020 he led the Centre for Civic Media at the MIT Media Lab. His ideas about what public organizations could mean in creating a healthier online environment have been the inspiration for the PublicSpaces coalition.
