Ludo Baauw
Group CEO at Intermax Group (IMG)
Ludo Baauw founded Intermax at the age of 21, one of the first internet service providers in the Netherlands. Intermax Group has since grown into a group of seven companies with approximately 275 "Intermakkers", focused on cloud and security for Dutch vital infrastructure. Rather than selling his shares to private equity, he bought back the minority stake from investor Royalis Investments in 2025. Since 2024, he has been a founding partner of the DEC Alliance (a cooperative Evergreen investment fund), established to keep Intermax and similar vital tech companies in Dutch hands. Since 2009, Ludo has been chair of Stichting NBIP, the executive body for more than 200 Dutch and European internet and hosting companies. In that role, he was instrumental in founding NaWas in 2014, the Nationale Anti-DDoS Wasstraat — the world's largest non-profit anti-DDoS facility. In April 2026, he was the driving force behind the Open Cloud Alliance, a coalition of seven competitors (Centric, Info Support, Intermax, KPN, Nebul, Previder and Uniserver) that are jointly building a redundant government cloud as an alternative to American hyperscalers.
