Martijn van Dam

Martijn van Dam is a director of Stichting Nederlandse Datakluis (Netherlands Data Vault Foundation). ‘Your personal data belongs to you!’ This is the fundamental principle of new data infrastructure based on personal data vaults. The approach helps us to solve one of the most important problems of the current internet: the monopolisation of personal data by a handful of Big Tech companies. DPG media, Mediahuis, NPO, RTL and Talpa are working together to investigate the possibilities, in a collaboration organised and coordinated by the Data Vault Foundation. Van Dam was previously a politician with the Dutch Labour Party and director of NPO, the Dutch public broadcasting foundation. He was State Secretary for Economic Affairs from November 2015 to August 2017.
