Nestor Siré

Multi-media Artist

Nestor Siré is a Cuban multimedia artist whose transdisciplinary research examines how technology both shapes and is shaped by social practices. He observes how technology transforms collective dynamics and, in turn, how those dynamics merge with the technology itself, generating hybrid practices from which informal infrastructures sprout and reconfigure everyday life.

This point of tension—between the device and the human use that re-engineers it—is the territory where his work emerges. His projects employ an artistic methodology informed by visual anthropology, network studies, and critical media theory to probe informal circuits and vernacular hacks forged under conditions of scarcity.
