Initiatives in the social economy rely on communities to participate in their collaborative or participatory business models. Digital tools play an important role in supporting that collaboration and participation, yet they are rarely designed with these specific ends in mind.
Recently, the Roadmap Democratic Technologies was released, mapping existing digital tools and platforms that support the social economy, while also identifying what is still lacking. This panel explores how we can build greater momentum for this emerging and important societal sector, and what it will take to develop the democratic digital infrastructure it deserves.
