Abdelrahman (Abdo) Hassan

Responsible AI Manager at Decathlon | Founder/Creative Technologist at Critical Tech

Abdelrahman (Abdo) Hassan is a creative technologist, AI strategist, digital anthropologist, and poet based in Amsterdam. His work bridges software, critical theory, and poetic practice to design Emancipatory AI Ecosystems—technologies rooted in freedom, relationality, and resistance. He has led responsible AI efforts at IKEA and Decathlon, co-created public tools for data rights and literacy, and staged performances exploring care and grief in machine systems. From algorithmic policy to poetic infrastructures, Hassan’s practice challenges dominant narratives of “trustworthy AI,” insisting instead on systems that can be imagined with, negotiated through, and shaped by the communities they affect.
