AI Warm-Up: Reshaping Public Media in the Age of AI

Panel - An interactive session on the importance of embedding public values in how Europe uses AI in the media

Language: English.

As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms how media is made, distributed, and consumed, public media organizations across Europe face a pressing challenge: how do we ensure that these technologies serve the public good rather than corporate interests?

This session explores how public values can guide the development and use of AI in Europe’s media landscape. We begin with a playful AI warm-up, designed to physically and mentally stretch how we think about technology in civic life. Think Twister meets data visualization meets imaginative manifesto-building. With our minds open, we move into a panel discussion featuring experts from public broadcasting, cultural research, and media innovation. Together, they’ll reflect on why now is the time to embed public values into AI and how collaboration across borders can make our efforts stronger than isolated actions.

We conclude with a hands-on manifesto-shaping activity, inviting the audience to help define a shared vision for responsible AI in European media. This session is a call to action: to think critically, act collectively, and reshape the systems that shape us.
