Alek Tarkowski

Dr. Alek Tarkowski is co-founder and Director of Strategy at Open Future, a European think tank for the digital commons. A sociologist by training, he has over 20 years of experience in public interest advocacy, movement strategies, and digital policy. His work focuses on public digital infrastructure, commons-based data governance, and public AI. He sits on the Board of Wikimedia Europe, and previously cofounded Creative Commons Poland and sat on the Board of the Creative Commons organization.
