Marleen Stikker

Founding Director Waag Futurelab

Marleen Stikker is the founder and director of Waag Futurelab in Amsterdam. She also founded ā€˜De Digitale Stadā€™ (The Digital City) in 1993, the first virtual community introducing free public access to the internet in Amsterdam. In 1994, she co-founded Waag with Caroline Nevejan. Since its inception, Waag has grown into a leading European institute for technology and society, encouraging active citizenship by designing and developing open, fair, and inclusive technology.
