Marleen Stikker

Founding Director Waag Futurelab

Marleen Stikker is the founder and director of Waag Futurelab in Amsterdam. She also founded ‘De Digitale Stad’ (The Digital City) in 1993, the first virtual community introducing free public access to the internet in Amsterdam. In 1994, she co-founded Waag with Caroline Nevejan. Since its inception, Waag has grown into a leading European institute for technology and society, encouraging active citizenship by designing and developing open, fair, and inclusive technology.
