Martijn de Waal

Martijn de Waal is a professor at the Civic Interaction Design Research Group at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. In his work, he explores the design of public spaces in a networked society. Recently, he collaborated with PublicSpaces and PubHubs researching a road map and design implications for 'civic social media' platforms. His publications include The Platform Society: Public Values in a Connective World, co-authored with Jose van Dijck and Thomas Poell.
