Raoul Kramer

Designer at Beta Break

Raoul Kramer, a designer at Beta Break with a passion for using technology to drive positive change, has spent the past decade exploring how digital transformation can be harnessed to promote democracy and social change.

He had the opportunity to work with various organisations to help them implement open-source software solutions, which has given him a unique perspective on the potential of tech to empower individuals and communities.

He is part of the team at UBports, where he helps in developing an open-source operating system as an alternative to the dominant smartphone platforms controlled by Google and Apple. This experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise when working outside these dominant tech infrastructures.

Raoul is deeply concerned about the ways in which tech giants are shaping our world (and not always for the better). He is now looking forward to sharing his thoughts and insights with others, exploring ways that we can work together to build a more equitable and just digital future.
