In this panel, representatives of European civil society organisations will discuss the need to invest in public digital infrastructure, and the contribution this will make to the creation of digital public spaces that can serve as alternatives to the commercial platforms that dominate the internet today. We will discuss strategies for building and maintaining digital commons and other types of public digital infrastructure. With contributions from Michiel Leenaars (NLnet), Olivia Vereha (Commit Global), Sophie Bloemen (Commons Network) and Sébastien Shulz (Société des Communs). The session will be moderated by Paul Keller (Open Future / Public Spaces). The conclusions of this session will feed into the subsequent session with policy makers.
