Simone van der Burg

Simone van der Burg is the Head of Programme of the Code research group within Waag Futurelab. She previously worked at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), where she was senior researcher and programme leader of Ethics and Responsible Digitisation. Her research at WUR focused on, among other things, the impact of robotics and AI on agricultural and horticultural workers. Before that, Simone was an assistant professor in healthcare ethics and responsible research and innovation at IQ Healthcare at RadboudUMC. 

A graduate of VU University Amsterdam, she obtained her PhD in philosophy and ethics with the thesis ‘In Critical Company’, which discussed the role of criticism in ethics based on practices.
